Article Source: http://www.articlesbase.com/ – Satellite TV Has Many Benefits – So Why Stay With Cable TV ?
Are you getting progressively annoyed at the continually rising charges imposed by your cable TV supplier?
Do you get upset at the new charges but still continue to use their services because you just can’t be bothered to do anything about it? Have you complained to the provider about these extreme increases and been given a totally unconvincing answer?
Well, now you can do something about it. It’s time to review your TV options in regard to what you pay and what you get. Many cable TV customers are now realizing that their service provider cannot give them the number and variety of High Definition (HD) channels that other service providers can.
The biggest problem facing the cable companies is the aggressive nature of the competition from the satellite TV companies. Since the start of satellite transmission the cable companies have been fighting a losing battle. The satellite TV providers, DISH Network and DirecTV, are on a ruthless march towards total domination of the TV market. They know that the days of cable TV are coming to an end and that the more advanced technology of satellite TV will ensure that in the near future this form of transmission will be dominant in the industry.
Satellite TV – also known as Dish TV – is better able to supply those families living in remote areas who because of high cost may not have access to television services transmitted by cable. Almost every family in the country is able to enjoy the benefits of satellite television, whereas the cable TV companies are unable to provide services to distant and isolated regions.
The advantages of satellite TV are much more than being able to serve rural areas.
The intensively competitive nature of the satellite television industry for a larger market share means that the public is being continually offered deals and money-saving promotions to sign up.
These offers vary from the on-going deals of free equipment and installation for a given number of TVs; free access to a number of movie channels for a period; free access to HD channels for a pre-determined period; free upgrade to more modern equipment, usually a DVR unit, and free HD receiver for subscribers signing up for a HD program package. Some of these deals may last for a limited time period before being replaced by equally enticing offers. The range of deals available to new subscribers is something that the cable companies have difficulty in matching.
Whilst these offers may encourage people to try a satellite company, it’s the huge number of channels together with the value-for-money monthly charges that keep families loyal to the satellite providers.
The technological nature of satellite transmission means that a larger range of channels can be offered to subscribers. The companies offer an exciting and wide-ranging number of packages covering every possible topic for all members of the family at monthly costs to suit every family budget. All the major free-to-air channels are included in the packages together with local and regional programs. Add to these the multitude of special interest and niche programs, including a huge range of sports channels, and it can be said that satellite TV provides something for all family members.
For people born over-seas who enjoy watching television programs from the country of their birth, then both DISH Network and DirecTV provide a massive range of foreign language channels. Not only can subscribers enjoy their television viewing in their mother language, they can teach their children about life in their original country.
There are many other advantages of satellite TV, the most important being the reliability of signal transmission compared to that of cable – cable transmission is notorious for being affected by bad weather. With a satellite system loss of service due to poor weather is exceptionally rare.
